Happy Birthday James, Mom and I AM TEEN, Hear Me Roar!
I am officially the mom of a teenager, well in about 2-1/2 hours. 13 years ago today, I had arrived at my doctor's office around 2 p.m. so they could give me the thumbs up to head to the hospital. When I got there, they didn't believe I was in labor, even though my contractions were 5 minutes apart. They quickly found otherwise. He was born shortly after 11:30 p.m. weighing in at 7 lbs, 1 oz. and was 21-1/4" long. He's now just as tall as me (5'4") if not a smidgen taller.
My mother celebrated her birthday last Saturday and Melissa Say What was honored with her first product review blog post on that very date. She has officially been dubbed…
Stay tuned for more product reviews and more from Momma Say What. In the meantime, check out her review of the Lint Lizard here.

Technology is FINALLY overwhelming me. My ability to withstand 18 hours per day of being on the computer is falling. My son will be celebrating his birthday and the subsequent weeks with his father (sniffle). It's all I can offer since his time with him during the school year is limited. This weekend is dedicated to much needed R&R so that when my son does return, we can enjoy the summer months!
I've been hearing a lot about BlogHer and other blog conferences. One day, I hope to attend and meet my fellow bloggers. Until then, this year's round up of Voices of the Year '12 Honorees and Readers introduces me to even more fellow bloggers in the blogosphere! Check it out here.
Pulled pork it is! I finally got up the nerve to reenter the land of pulled pork after my incident with the crock pot!
Throughout the month of June, I'll be celebrating my son! Stick around for great photo memories, stories and more.

Last weekend, I was faced with a bout of Writer's Block. There aren't many times when I have nothing to say, so I was puzzled. Read about how I dealt with it here.
Just 1 week until my son turns 13. A bit of teen humor! (Note: This is not a text from my son. I found it on the internet).
I went ahead and changed my blog design despite the fact that my son is not officially a TEEN. Here's what it looked like before. The redesign is fully accredited to my son, who not only turns from TWEEN to TEEN, but also FINALLY taught his supposedly Tech Savvy Mom, how to use Photoshop.
My monster leg rash has calmed down a lot. I'm glad to say I should be able to wear shorts this summer without scaring innocent bystanders.
May 21st marked the beginning of the astrological sign, Gemini. My Mother, Brother and Son are all Geminis. What's even more interesting is that my Grandmother had my Mother, when she was 19, my Mother had me when she was 19 and I had my Son when I was 19. To top it all off, I am 10 years older than my brother and he is 10 years older than my son. Speaking of birthdays, do you know how many people you share your birthday with? Find out how common your birthday is here.
I had the opportunity to answer a common question among bloggers about organization and time. I've decided to share what I've (quickly) learned as a blogger with fellow bloggers with the first of many tutorials per se. Find out how to nix the paper planner (if you're digitally inclined) whether you're on Blogger or WordPress.
Regarding my blog; I am doing well and continue to receive inquiries directly from companies who would like to partner to review their products. With that, I have a few new reviews coming up. At this point, I can only semi-understand charging for a review. If I am fortunate enough to receive a free product to use, review and keep, as well as potentially receiving one to give away, that's compensation enough. I also have a full-time job outside of the home, though. This is how I CHOOSE to spend my time. With that, the review opportunities come in a bit more slowly, but allow me ample time to fully consider my opinion on the product(s). However, it continues to increase my readership. As the circle continues, it increases my opportunities and what little compensation I receive for advertisements on my site (i.e I don't even have enough to cash out yet).
Still LOVING the comments! It drives me! If you like my M.O. please follow me! Find out how here.
I have an 8th Snippet this week! Thank you so much to Andi at Bringing the Sunshine for this great link-up! It really feels like ME! Though Andi has a more serious agenda, Seven Snippets has really encouraged me to focus at least one blog post per week on what's really going on in my family. I'm still FAR from the goal, but I'm getting there.

The Gemini-born can easily see both sides of an issue, a wonderfully practical quality. Less practical is the fact that you're not sure which Twin will show up half the time. Geminis may not know who's showing up either, which can prompt others to consider them fickle and restless.
I'm not heavy into astrology, but throughout the course of my life there have been a handful of astrological signs that stick out to me based on various encounters with multiple people.
The most prevalent sign has been (and always will be) Gemini, for me. In addition to friends, ex-boyfriends and colleagues, my mother, brother and son are all Geminis. I've been surrounded by Geminis my whole life and will be for many years to come.
Two predominant characteristics that have remained consistent are their overwhelming love and generosity towards others and on the opposite end of the spectrum, their ability to turn that off, as if it were a switch or at times, even an exploding time bomb of sorts. I suppose any one can have that characteristic, though I can predict my mother begging me to remove this post from my blog. I'm convinced it's a Gemini thing. Now, you might think that it could be a hereditary trait, but my brother and I have different fathers. It's not a trait seen amongst my mother's side of the family, other than her.
While it might sound as though I'm harping on my beloved Geminis, I'm not. They're very near and dear to my heart. So much, in fact, that I had the Gemini symbol tattooed on my wrist. It's the most commented on tattoo that I have.

Just a few weeks ago, I went to the drive-through of Taco Bell. The attendant asked me if I was a Gemini. I didn't even need to tell her what the symbol was. I explained to her that my mother, brother and son are all Geminis, followed by '"all six of them". She exclaimed, "I know, right?", laughing in agreement.
So, let's celebrate Gemini's.
5/22 – James (brother)
5/26 – Debbie (Mom)
5/30 – Heidi
5/31 – Michael
6/1 – Nicholas (son)
