GIANTMicrobes produces unique and interesting gifts for children and adults based on microbial science.
I received the GIANTMicrobes Chickenpox to review. I chose it because it was a cute plush toy and 2 of the 3 members of my household have never had Chickenpox. It was interesting to use this plush toy to educate my family on Chickenpox, how it’s transmitted and it’s relation to Shingles. A few years ago, I had a co-worker in her early 20’s who contracted Shingles {rare at this age}. As I’ve never had Chickenpox this made me susceptible to Chickenpox, as well as my son. Fortunately, my son was vaccinated and my boyfriend has already had it.
Here’s a little funny.
Me: Nicholas has Chickenpox.
Him: OMG! Don’t go in there or you could die if you get Chickenpox.
{He follows me into my son’s bedroom}
Me: Nicholas? Where are your Chickenpox?
{After shuffling I found the Chickenpox plush toy from GIANTMicrobes}
Me: See! He’s got Chickenpox!
Him: He has a Chicken POCK!!

GIANTMicrobes would make a fun “GET WELL SOON” gift for those suffering common ailments such as the flu, the common cold or even bad breath to Athlete’s Foot.
Mostly, I see these cute little plush toys as a great resource for educators, health care professionals or even parents who home school to teach children about all things health.
On an off note, GIANTMicrobes offers a selection of products related to Venereal diseases which may aide in Sexual Education. Also offered are pet related menageries such as Heartworm, Mange, Rabies and Toxoplasmosis, which may be good for a new young pet owner.
Each plush toy takes on the imagery of the real microbe that it represents and comes with an image and information.
GIANTMicrobes ships all over the world and the prices are very reasonable for the purposes they represent or even as a gift for a recipient with a sense of humor.
Check them out on the web, Facebook and Twitter.

I received the above products through Sublime Media Connection in exchange for an honest review. In no way was I asked to give a positive review.

My 3 yr old son is pretty obsessed with germs at the moment. I think between school & home, always being told to wash his hands or not to touch this or that because of “germs” … he would love to have this visual for them! How cute!
This is so cute and the only Chicken pox I would like my kids too get lol

Oh my so cute!
These are too cute! Not just a fun toy but great to learn with too.
That is one cute chick pock!
LOL! That Chicken Pox joke put a smile on my face. I don’t remember ever getting chicken pox as a kid. I remember some of my siblings got it because I remember being told to stay away from them. My mom doesn’t remember who did and didn’t get chicken pox either because there were too many of us. I must say that the plushy does look more attractive than the actual chicken pox.

Alyn – That’s too funny! How many siblings do you have? That reminds me of my Grandmother calling out our names. 4 kids and 8 grandkids, she would cycle through the names!!
I have 8 siblings so there is a total of 9 of us.
