Help a Fellow Blogger in Need
The purpose of this Extravaganza is to raise money for our fellow blogger who recently lost everything within the same week. Her daughter passed away and her home burned to the ground. Each of the participating bloggers have made a donation to help this sweet lady. Should you wish to donate money to this blogger who is going through a difficult time, you may do so by clicking on the donate button below. We thank you for your consideration.
If you’re a blogger and donating $10 or more, please contact me via email after donating with “SMC Fall Benefit Hop” as the subject line including your Paypal email address you donated with and three links of your choice and I will add your links to this giveaway. 100% of the donations will be given to the blogger in need.

We volunteer as a family several times throughout the year.
I volunteer for the Lee Conlee house and red cross
we donate to the food banks, local children house
Not sure if some would consider it charity but before my grandmother passed, she needed around the clock care, my mother and I didn’t want her to stay in a nursing home so she lived with my mother. My mom worked 40+ hours per week so took care of her while she was off, I lived an hour away and woke up at 4:30am with an infant and toddler every morning to be there with her while my mom was at work. At the state she reached before passing, she became my 3rd baby, I fed her, I changed her, and loved her. It was hard but I was doing it for her so she could be with family. Sometimes we had good moments but many of the times she was “lost”. I didn’t get paid, I did it because I loved my grandmother and knew she needed me.
I make donations as often as I can such as clothing, cell phones, glasses & encourage others to do the same.
I donate often to Goodwill.
I have volunteered at Second Chance Companions. It’s a no-kill pet organization that helps find homes for unwanted or abandoned strays. I used to foster there and also did Pet shows at Petco and Petsmart…loved it!
As a Lions club member the charity work is ongoing we support so many local charitys

First, thanks for asking this question.. makes me realize I could be doing a lot more to be more charitable. I donate my clothes a few times a year, I volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter, and I participate in various half-marathons and 5ks throughout the year for all different causes.
Not sure if this counts, but I adopted a dog from our local rescue who had been looking for a new forever home for a long time, he was older and had allergy issues. I fell in love with him and we are having the BEST time!
I gave $35 to The International Campaign for Tibet.
I drove Meals On Wheels for a little bit delivering meals to the needy.
I try to buy one small thing from every child who comes to my door raising funds for something–usually school, but sometimes a special activity.
I donated a large sum of money to the National Zoo for the elephant house.
I donated to Goodwill.
I donate to our local food shelf!
I help with fund raisers for my sons school.
I contribute to Habitat for Humanity
I am a bit uncomfortable about a daily question asking for charitable actions. I do give to the local blood bank whendrives come around.
I donate as much money as I can every year to local charitys.
We adopt a family for the holiday’s to help them have a nice Christmas.
I donate to every drive–food, clothing, coats. Sometimes I actually buy something for a drive, if I dont have something onhand.
I gave money for groceries to the father of one of my daughters friends who had nothing and needed help.
I try and donate clothes that are too small for my kids and myself to the local churches.
We buy groceries for a needy family once a month.
I don’t usually think of it as “charitabl,” because I had an amazing experience, but i did “take in” two teenage boys–friend of my son when he was a teenager–whose families were going through tough times. They stayed with us until they were 18 or 19 and ready to move out. One went to college. The other is doing well with his own business.

Most of the time when I go through the drive-thru fast food line, I pay for the meal for the person behind me. Helps me justify all those cheeseburgers I’m eating.
I use my stockpile to donate when I know of someone in need. This is a very simple thing, but so helpful.
I have given lots of clothes, food, and money to my local charity.
I volunteer for various things throughout the year – most recently I helped to pack backpacks with tons of school supplies, for kids going back to school whose parents couldn’t afford to buy school supplies and backpacks for them.
We donate to my daughters school through a special fund set up to help students with school supplies, clothes, food and other needs through out the school year.
well my brother actually got me into volunteering with this non profit organization cause hes friends with the girl that runs it in our community and the first time i did it i was hooked! it really is so rewarding.
for the care packages i use items that i pick up on sale or from the dollar store like travel size items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes ect. and i aslo pick up granola bars and other little snacks or ” essentials” that we use and take for granted on a day to day basis and i buy huge amounts of the big ziplock bags u can buy and i fill them up with all that kinda stuff and carry one around in my purse and if i see someone that needs one i give it to them.. *if i hadda car i would beable to do so much more but because i take the bus places i can only carry one around with me* sometimes i get the smaller ziplock baggies too and just put 2 granola bars and the basic tolietrees so i can carry more then one. and im on disability and have always been a part of a low income family so i know what its like to have nothing.. but because i am on a low income i do only what i can and always wish i could do more. i actually seen this giveaway and really wanted to enter because if i won having this tablet would make it much easier to do my volunteer work and i also just started school again after 7 years so this would also help with that as well:) so thanks so much for the opportunity to win such an amazing prize!

Alyshia! That seems EXTREMELY charitable to me as well. I definitely agree with you though. Reading through all of the comments I’ve received on this post make me feel like I could do a lot more to help! I donate clothes and other goods, I gave a friend a laptop when I replaced mine because I new she had a limited income, I gave away an iPhone 3 when I replaced mine. These things all seem miniscule, but sometimes I don’t feel like I’m in a position to offer help when I need so much myself. Then again, do I really? I’ve given away ELECTRONICS….to me that just says I need to prioritize my monies! The comments I received all make a great idea for post about paying it forward. I just remembered that I began a small monthly donation to a non-profit called Modest Needs, but I had to temporarily halt my donations until I get my money stuff right. It just really makes you think about priorities in life!
Thanks for responding that is awesome most people don’t take the time to even recognize their followers so Thank you. I am with you I do anything and every thing for the people I love even when they don’t seem to really appreciate it, but I guess doing what you can is the most charitable you can be! I hope your day is great and appreciated!
