My Interest Is Knowing Your Interests

For those of you who are just tuning in, I am a single mother of a 13-year old son, I work outside of the home full-time selling FASTENERS and I also sell Avon (http://youravon.com/melissammiller).  I yearn for knowledge on anything and everything and love sharing that knowledge with my family, friends, colleagues and complete strangers!! I have a wide variety of interests hence the name for my site, Melissa Say What?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what type of content you’d like to see on my site.  With the invention of the internet many years ago, many people have been empowered to express their opinions.  I will continue doing so as I see fit, though if there is a specific topic, product, idea, etc. you‘d like to learn more about, please let me know.

Hot topics on the web amongst my readers seem to be consumer product reviews, parenting, recipes, saving money, making money, iPhone/Android apps and cosmetics.    Of course, on occasion, I will hold a giveaway/sweepstakes for free product.

What am I missing? What would make you want to come to my site EVERY DAY?

Answer these questions of yourself and let me know how I can become valuable to you.

  • Who are you?
  • What do you like in a blog?
  • When do you read it?
  • Where do you read it?
  • Why do you visit now? What would make you visit more?
  • How can I help you?

It’s not about making money, though I have received minimal compensation that one day might support my hosting costs to maintain this website, but rather becoming the Oprah of bloggers!!  I know there are a ton of other sites out there that have similar focuses, but I want your constant feedback on what you’d like to see.  Whether it’s advice on how to save money on a certain product, advice on a technology product or service, posts on parenting a teenager, relationship advice, my thoughts on housing, my thoughts on buying a car, etc., my door is ALWAYS open! I encourage your feedback EVERY DAY!!

Please comment below or feel free to contact me with your candid feedback.

What I can do for you is dependent on your responses.  What you can do for me is follow me via email or other social networks.  Get connected now! (Check out the right hand sidebar and/or very bottom of the site to follow me in various ways).

The Real Precious

My parents announced that my family dog, Precious, age 9, has mast cell tumor cancer.  She’s been given 6-12 months to live.  My brother is currently away and this was his baby.  Unfortunately, he cannot by any means make it back to see her before she is slated to pass.  I love my current dog, Zuki, but Precious holds another special place in all of our hearts.  I love all animals and I’m the type who would have a zoo if I won the lottery.  It would be one of the first things I did.

This post is dedicated to my sweet baby girl, Precious.  Please pray for her that she miraculously overcomes her battle with cancer.  She is a beautiful, loveable Boxer that is irreplaceable.

Precious is a purebred Boxer and was bred with a male counterpart which produced a bunch of babies.  On the day she began giving birth, shortly after midnight, I remember her heading straight toward the stairs as her first little babe dropped itself from her womb.  I’m totally disgusted with all things gooey, but her baby was coming out while she was running up the stairs, so I let my gooey issues go and took charge.  I helped support the placenta as it dropped and eventually felt obligated to break it to let the little pup out.  She didn’t know what to do at first.  One by one, pups came pouring out of Precious all the way up to number 11.  Over a period of almost 18 hours they kept coming out.  I actually took the day off work to make sure she had the necessary support.  The time between babies became longer and longer and I believe 1/2-way through the process we thought she was done, but I continued sending messages to my mother, letting her know there was another arrival.  After awhile, she thought I was joking.  It even reached the point where I became so tired from being awake that somewhere between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. a postal worker rang the doorbell as I had almost drifted into a sleep.  As soon as I awoke and accepted the delivery another baby came out.

After a few days, the 11 thriving babies turned into 10 as my brother held a baby in it’s arms that could just not survive.  I will spare you the details as they are heartbreaking.  We laid the babe to rest.  I clearly recall the babe breathing it’s last breath as my brother held the baby in his arms.  Rest assured, we did everything in our power, including emergency veterinary care to help.

The rest of the story goes something like this:
