{Review} ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror

I am always looking for ways to be more “efficient”. Tackling my skin care routine in the shower was merely a wish, especially since I’m in a rental home. The shower is what it is…or so I thought. Even though I’m constantly “researching” things when I think “I wish there was a way” or “there’s got to be a better way” for some reason it never occurred to me to search for a way to accomplish performing my skin care routine in the shower.

When I was offered the opportunity to review the Original Fogless Shower Mirror from ToiletTree, I jumped for joy! I also got the “I wish I would have thought of that” feeling! I have been known to prop up not-so-shower-friendly accessories, including mirrors in a sour attempt to accomplish my goals. What did I get? FOG galore because I love HOT showers, but came really close to breakage and even ruined a few makeup compacts in the process.

I’ve been using the Original Fogless Shower Mirror for a few weeks now. Let me take you on a journey from the time I received the product.

Installation

Installation was a cinch. Just attach the mounting tape to the bracket before you attach the mirror. Apply the provided silicone adhesive and mount at eye level, allowing the silicone adhesive to set for 24 hours before attaching the mirror. During this time, you can use your shower.

The silicone adhesive that comes with the product is better alternative to suction cups or modules that hang from the shower head, especially since I have a detachable shower head. It stuck to my tiles and I have no fear that it will fall.

We mounted ours on the opposite site of the shower head.

Usage

We set our mirror a little higher, as my boyfriend will be the primary user of this mirror (along with his Phillips Norelco Aquatouch razor). The mirror has a pivoting frame, so I was still able to use the mirror. His Phillips Norelco Aquatouch shaver fits when the mirror is pivoted higher, but I do have to remove it to pivot it down to my level. Since I’m not super keen on sharing my shower time, here is a dry pic as a demo! Plus, I just got my broken phone screen repaired, so I didn’t want to do MORE damage!!

The size of the mirror is extra large in comparison to what I had been substituting. It measures 8.5in x 6.5in x 1.5in.

It’s Fogless

What makes this mirror fogless is that it has a fillable reservoir, when filled with warm/hot water it basically sets the temperature to that of your current water conditions, if you fill it with your shower water/air temperature. It really does work! Plus, the included squeegee allows you to wipe off any “initial” fog and water as you step in to the shower.

I was very impressed during my many showers. It actually kind of forced me to stay on par with my skincare routine and it’s a great tool for masks or facial treatments that require a waiting period, such as the AHA Brazilian Peel. I can make sure I’ve removed all of the product when it’s time!

It’s Shatterproof

I’m a self-proclaimed klutz, so this is GREAT for me. I have a tendency to break things. The acrylic mirror is shatterproof and even looking in it, I still feel I get the same effect as a glass mirror and I don’t have to get “close-up”.

Other benefits

I have not yet had the opportunity to gauge it’s removability, but after reading countless reviews I have heard that it’s more of a semi-permanent fixture. In other words, it’s not meant to be moved around on a regular basis, but if after 1-2 years I decide to move from my rental home it can be removed and reattached with no damage to the existing surface. The only thing I don’t see is the option to purchase more mounting tape and silicone adhesive, but countless review responses from the President of ToiletTree offer free replacement should you wish to remount the product. I cannot personally guarantee this, but I thought that was neat.

In addition, ToiletTree offers a 100% 30-day money back guarantee. This reminds me of Kia. While it’s a vehicle, offering a solid guarantee on a product means (to me) that the product is proven to be a winner. If a company expected for their product to fail they WOULD NOT offer such a guarantee!

{Review} blankZ Un Sealed Toy

Coloring is the ultimate stress relief no matter what your age!

I had the opportunity to review blankZ toys and my was it enjoyable! Unfortunately, I feel as though I’ve failed as a mother at not coloring enough with my son as he grew older, so at age 13, he wasn’t super anxious to try this out so I did it myself!

I’ve had a series of stressful weeks at home and at work and this really hit the spot. blankZ are intended for ages 5 and up. Well, I’m up!

blankZ are plush toys that come with no design, a set of blankZ markers and blankZdrop(TM) cards.

Before and After

Use the blankZ brand markers to color your blankZ any way you want! Now, I’m not the world’s most creative person. Perhaps that’s the reason I like coloring books. They have lines. I did however, thoroughly enjoy myself and it provided a relaxing time.

The best part is that you can wash it in the washing machine and dry it in the dryer to remove the color and have a fresh template to recolor. We might just have to have a blankZ design contest at my house!

Use only blankZ brand washable markers.

Using non blankZ brand markers will not guarantee that your blankZ toy will come out completely white and clean. If it doesn’t come out color free, just re-wash and re-dry!

The blankZ marker tips allow for both fine lines (using the tip) and broad lines (using the side).

This is definitely a unique gift for children and adults alike! For children or adults, you might give it as a gift blank or even create a design before giving it as gift, especially as a “get well soon” type gift.

Counselors and parents might even use it as a creative tool for allowing children to express their emotions when they’re feeling not so swell.

The marker ink is easily removed from the skin with warm water and soap.

After I designed one side, my boyfriend asked to test it out on the other side. He’s a bit more creative than me with the exception that he thought that my “Nick” insignia was referring to my son’s father, versus my son “Nicholas”. Well, I didn’t think I could fit “Nicholas’ onto the foot, so he scribed the name of an ex-girlfriend. Sigh.

This is definitely on my holiday list for a friend at work’s child!

I REALLY enjoyed this and can’t wait to begin the blankZ design contest at home!

{Review} Footzyfolds

About 80% of the shoes I own have some sort of heel and while I’ve learned to endure many hours in business, social and everyday situations, a little bit of excess weight has taken a toll on me. The amount of time I can endure in heels is a little less than what it used to be. When I say excess weight, I mean I’m 1 lb away from the weight I was on the day I gave birth to my son, now age 13. Granted, that was many years ago and we all know our bodies change as we age, I gained 42 lbs during my pregnancy. I’d like to at least shed 20 of those. With that, even before the return of the weight when my son was 5, I still had my limits.

Footzyfolds are foldable, stylish and comfortable shoes that can fit in your purse, glove compartment, desk drawer and more. While their design is mostly intended to relieve you from trying to make the Guinness Book of World Records for longest time in heels, I actually find them super cute and fashionable.

I had the opportunity to review the Fresca in Beige. The Fresca is available in Beige, Blue, Pink, and Black textured upper with matching tassel embellishment.

It was a mini marathon of a few hours and since I went to Aldi, included about 1/2 hour bagging my own HUGE mound of groceries that nearly overflowed the cart. In all honesty, it’s almost like I didn’t even know they (the Footzyfolds) were there. Plus, instead of looking all frumpy, it jazzed up my pair of jeans and a tee. I’d have to say that’s my favorite part about them.

Excuse the big red blotch on my foot! I’m actually wearing them as I type this review and I’ve been sitting criss-cross applesauce!!

Footzyfolds are available in tons of styles. I like this style (Fresca in Beige) because it’s more neutral and can be paired with almost anything! Ranging in price from $36-$69, other styles include boots, animal prints, metallic, multi-colored, loafers, basic colors, lacy and sporty types. Can you imagine foldable stylish boots that fit in your purse?

I can’t wait to get more use out of these puppies! I can imagine endless uses for them.

Imagine a business trip where you wear slip-on shoes with socks to get through the airport and then needing to quickly change upon arriving at your destination.
Imagine driving to work in a comfy pair of shoes versus big ole heels. I can’t tell you how many pairs of “extra” shoes I have in my car. Now I can finally stop storing mounds of shoes in my car!
Wear them around the house as house shoes, especially when guests come over!! Love your carpet/flooring and still be stylish!
Wear them to a business dinner and there is no more need for a journey to your hotel room or car for the after dinner shoe change!
If you hold more than one job and job 1 requires dressy/business attire and other requires a bit more casual or comfortable, you can easily head straight from one job to another!

The only hurdle I experienced was foot perspiration. Since my feet tend to perspire in flip-flops and foot perspiration is not an every day topic in conversations, I don’t really know where my feet compare to others on the perspiration scale. I feel that for me, part of it is excess weight and the other is lack of sufficient hydration. So, if your feet have a tendency to perspire, be prepared. There are tons of “treatments” you can use to prepare for this!!
