I am living with someone who chooses not to use dryer sheets. He pointed out that they’re flammable. I did some research and sure enough, they’re really not good stuff. We’re a walking electricity field this winter. Not only am I on the hunt for dryer sheet alternatives, but I’ve also had an unopened box of dryer sheets just sitting around that I did not have a coupon for when I bought them. I’ve got “return remorse”. I feel like I had nearly made an investment, so surely there is something I can do with them.
Last Friday, I had a girl’s night out and on the way out I questioned whether the dryer sheets stuffed in the wedges of my friend’s couch came from me. Granted, I haven’t been using them for a month and a half, I am woman and mother.
Moving sparked a mad purse rotation movement, as it was noted that I have “too many purses”. While I make every effort to clean them out, sometimes, untimely transfer after a last minute wardrobe change takes place.
Low and behold, I was told that the dryer sheets were purposefully placed in the couch for freshness. Suddenly, I heard the sound of angels! My friend has two small dogs, so it’s a perfect idea for pet owners and even those without.
Today, on my day off, I’ve placed dryer sheets under each cushion of the couch, loveseat and sitting chair. I can only hope it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Now, as for dryer sheet alternatives, as a Purex Insider, I once received a free sample of Purex Crystals. Those should be a suitable alternative. I was actually very pleased with them. I still have one FREE coupon for them. I’m not done yet, though.
The same friend I went out with on Friday also sells Shaklee products. They offer many natural alternatives to common household products. I’ll give them a whirl and post a product review soon.
