Introducing two of my three cats and my dog. All of the animals in my family were "adopted". The three cats were babies of strays that were taken in by family. Lu is not pictured. He's the BIG boy that reminds me of a mini panther. My dog, Zuki, was abandoned by it's owners and taken in by the family vet until they found a home for him. Meet them here and if you'd like you can vote for them to win their very own Nature's Sleep Pet Bed. Since I couldn't find a pic of Lu to enter in the contest, here he is!

Last week, I added a countdown to my almost teenage son's 13th birthday. We are officially 2 weeks away. I got a preview of what's to come earlier this week. You can read about it here. I have a good child, but I was a good child and a teenager. They still have their moments. In expectation of the next 5+ years, I went a step ahead and created a section on my blog titled "I AM TEEN! HEAR ME ROAR!' Stay tuned for regular updates.

With that, you'll notice my blog header says "Random ramblings of a single, working mother to a TWEEN…" Needless to say, since he will be a TEEN, that won't really apply. I've designed a new blog header and button. My colors will slightly change, but the site layout itself will remain the same. Let the countdown begin! Come back in two weeks (or before!!).

For those of you who are just joining, I had a monster leg rash that turned into, well, just icky! I went to the doctor and got a biopsy. The results came back and I have Pityrosporum (Malassezia) Folliculitis. What in the world is that? Find out here.

My neighbors probably hate me because my grass is overgrown. Just two small repairs to the lawn mower that was given to me for FREE and I will have the most beautiful lawn on the block. If they forgive me for that, perhaps I will forgive all of them for parking in the street. HELLO! You have a driveway. That's such a safety hazard. Emergency vehicles can't get through if there are vehicles parked in the street on both sides.

I had the opportunity to review a great product called the Burger Pocket Press. Not only that, but I also have one to give away! Whether you're a burger master or you can't make a patty to save your life, this is a great tool for mixing up meals or wowing guests at a party. It's perfect for grilling season!

This will be my first post today. I've had a week of ups and downs when it came to blogging. On my end were the downs, but on the reader side I have been fortunate to gain new followers, subscribers and I've been getting great feedback through comments. I love reading the comments! On another note, my unique visitors have increased by leaps and bounds (to me). Several companies have reached out TO ME. That makes me feel good. I love sharing my opinion (positive or negative) and the real life events that go along with products I review, accompanied with a bit of humor. If you're not already following, I hope you'll come back! Find out how here.
